After having discussions with other builders and becoming disillusioned with apathy to budget and lack of communication, we accepted that building our dream home was just too hard. We decided to sell our block and buy an established home. After literally years of planning, it was heartbreaking.

Fortunately as it turns out our block didn’t sell. So we revisited the idea of building and someone recommended Simon at Formview. By this stage, we had accepted the fact that we would have to significantly lower our expectations and build a more standard home than we had planned. We didn’t need to; Simon said he could use our existing plans and tweak them slightly to achieve our desired result, on time and our budget.

He also said he aimed to make the building process enjoyable! We were cynical, but Simon delivered. Signing with Formview made our dream come true – literally. For us, the actual build was the least stressful part of establishing our new home. Simon has a relaxed, but professional attitude. When issues arose, he always had a solution and would offer options and alternatives.

He didn’t overwhelm us with decisions, but always gave us a timeline for when he needed a selection made. His project management skills were second to none, meaning there is almost always someone on site, doing something. He was also proactive in offering advice, especially on cost-saving recommendations that didn’t affect the overall look or feel of the home.

Simon was committed to the job and to us. We always felt he wanted just as much as we did for the home to be as good as it could be. We think the result is testimony to this. Despite a non-standard design and the block being a difficult site to work with, our new home was completed in just 12 months and on budget. Remarkably, It actually turned out better than we’d imagined. We love it!

We have, and will continue to recommend Formview to others wanting to build their new home. Simon is a genuine bloke to work with, who will do his best to make your building dreams come true.
